King of The Mountain: No Mountains is a Limit

Do you know how it is like to live with disability? Or be someone who lives with a disabled person 24/7? Unless you are a person with special need, nobody knows how it is like living differently from everyone who is considered normal.

People with special needs are always stereotyped. The world often sees them as useless and not having any value at all. People who takes cares for them don’t always get moral support either. This is sad, because people with disability can achieve whatever normal people can, and sometimes even better.

Last weekend, during the Great Eastern Genting King of Mountain Challenge 2016 by Viper, Team E.T.A met someone very special. His name is Austin, an expatriate from United States of America who claimed Malaysia as his second home. Austin is special not because he is a foreigner but because he is a special need individual. Unlike us, Austin cannot speak and cannot listen. Can you imagine not being able to talk and not being able to hear?

On the far right is Austin. He is one of the challenger during Great Eastern Genting King of the Mountain. Despite his lack of hearing and speech, he took up the Great Eastern Genting King of the Mountain like he had no disability at all. This alone is amazing, as the challenge is so tough that even normal people sometimes shy away from it.

The Great Eastern Genting King of The Mountain by Viper Challenge 2016 is a sports event where the challengers who had to go through 10km of run with 15 obstacles scattered around Resorts World Genting before they are officially declared as the King of The Mountain. It is clearly not an easy mission.

10km and 15 obstacles is definitely not an easy feat but one thing we all can learn about Austin is that no mountain is unmovable, and with the right people, right motivation and right guidance, even those with disability can achieve things that they want in life. We need to stay strong and stop allowing people to tell you what you can do and what you cannot do. This is just about mindset. Great Eastern Genting King of The Mountain by Viper Challenge showed us all just that?

Regret that you did not join the challenge and push yourselves to be the best version of yourselves like Austin? No worries, considering the huge success of the event, Resorts World Genting will surely be opening their door for more sports events to welcome sports enthusiasts nationwide and worldwide in the future.
